The Smart London Board helps shape the vision for London's smart cities agenda and investment in digital infrastructure and supports the delivery of the Smarter London Together Roadmap. It advises the Mayor and his Chief Digital Officer (CDO) on the implementation of new digital technologies across London's infrastructure, utilities and public services and the role of technology and data in all Mayoral strategies and policies.

As of November 2022, the Smart London Board has achieved all its goals and has now been replaced by the Data for London Advisory Board.

Membership

The board is made up of leading figures from the tech sector alongside entrepreneurs and academics. Board members advise on how London can put digital technology and data at the heart of making the capital an even better place to live, work and visit.

Our goals

The goals of the Smart London Board are to:

  • Support delivery of Smarter London Together, the Mayor's roadmap to make London 'the smartest city in the world', by working more effectively with the tech community, our universities and other cities
  • Inform and support the Mayor's efforts to deliver data and digital-driven improvements to London
  • Develop partnerships which bring resources for new smart technology projects and programmes
  • Guide the Mayor and Chief Digital Officer with best practice and benchmarking London against other world cities
  • Be ambassadors for the Mayor and the smart cities sector in London and overseas
