Sport Leadership Academy
The Mayor of London’s Sport Team and London's Violence Reduction Unit are seeking proposals for the award of a grant to an organisation or consortium of organisations for a Mayor of London (MoL) Sport Leadership Academy project. The successful grantee will establish, provide project activities, and evaluate a project.
Background
The Sport and Serious Youth Violence (SYV) steering group was formed in 2019, as part of the Sport Unites programme, using physical activity and sport to achieve positive outcomes for Londoners. The Steering Group consisted of representatives from 20 sport organisations, and included a young person from each of these organisations. The group has been renamed the Young People Affected by Violence (YPAV) Steering Group.
The work of the steering group led to a pilot of the Sport Leadership Academy and based off the learning of the pilot, the VRU are funding a redesign of this project.
