Flowers For Future
Description:
Some people like flowers for their colour, others like them for their smell. What do you like them for? If I could, I would make everyday smell like flowers (If the money would stretch so far, I would have machines that generate the smell of flowers). In my sculpture I have shown them with the colour side facing up because I really love the vibrant colours that flowers have. If I kept the grey wired flowers it would have blended into its surroundings- Central London -but flowers don’t blend in, they stand out! In the background I have put my sketches for the flowers that are now made with wire that I painted. It is also to warn people that time is running out and if we keep going on like this we won’t be able to treasure their beauty and smell much longer.

My Mind Works Like A Firework
Description:
What is my plinth about?
My fourth plinth is about my neurodiversity, dyslexia. I felt that it was a good topic to do a plinth on because while dyslexia is present in 10% of the population it is invisible and really misunderstood. This statue is to show that having/ being neurodivergent can feel limiting. It shows that while I find tasks that others find easy (like reading, writing or spelling) I find very hard. I have made the puppet multicoloured to show that I, and other people with dyslexia, are naturally more creative than neurotypical people. My mind works like a firework display. I have talents and struggles that others do not have. The colour is to show that while struggling, I have a lot to offer in subjects like art and music. Finally, the letters on the bottom are to hint the struggle. The letters are jumbled up, just like they are in my brain.
I made this work to raise awareness. Awareness that us in the 10% may struggle but with patience can do more that is expected of us. So that we can live in a more understanding world.
What is it made of?
I made my plinth out of: a wooden sketching model for the person, coloured masking tape for the colour collage, lce lolly sticks for the puppet control part, wire for the string so it levitates and finally I drew lots of letters at the bottom.
What was my inspiration?
My inspiration was that over 6.5 million people in the UK are dyslexic and 4 out of 10 (over 1 million) people with dyslexia in the UK are unemployed. And the employment rate for people with learning disabilities is 4.8% . I want to help change the statistics and help more people like me become employed.

Boba Cup
Description:
I chose to make a Boba cup. This cup represents the amount of environmental change in the world. The cup is not full, the empty space is there for us to consider the change that will happen in the future.
