This submission covers what is being and what more could be done to help ensure all young Londoners, including those outside mainstream education, are part of the 2012 sporting legacy.
It identifies the need for more action under four broad areas, and seeks to influence the Mayor's forthcoming London Legacy Plan for Sport with specific recommendations relating to each area. The areas are:
- Ensuring more sports facilities and activities are easily accessible to all young Londoners;
- Communicating directly with young Londoners about sporting opportunities;
- Enabling young Londoners to deliver sports activities for other young Londoners; and
- Engaging professional sportspeople and coaches to deliver sports activities for young Londoners.
