An inspection report by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) found that the London Fire Brigade (LFB) requires improvement in several important areas.
His Majesty's Inspector Matt Parr CB said that some firefighters are still not trained to respond to terrorist incidents.
He also raised concerns about the workplace culture, with some staff describing discriminatory behaviour directed towards them and a lack of confidence in reporting such behaviour.
Does LFB fully agree with the findings of the inspection? And what action is it taking to improve its performance?
The London Assembly Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee will meet tomorrow to discuss the inspection findings. The guests are:
- HM Inspector Matt Parr CB, HMICFRS
- Andy Roe, London Fire Commissioner
- Dr Fiona Twycross, Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience
- Jon Lambe, London Regional Secretary
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 22 September 2022 from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
