I can confirm that the GLA holds the information in scope of your request as set out below:

Request: 

How many grievances related to racial discrimination or prejudice have been raised by employees within the last 12 months?

Response:

As the number is less than 5, it is deemed too small to provide the information as it could potentially identify the individual/s.  Personal Data is defined by Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to mean any information relating directly or indirectly to an identified or identifiable living individual and is exempt from disclosure under s.40 (Personal information) of the Freedom of Information Act.

It is considered that disclosure of this information would contravene the first data protection principle under Article 5(1) of GDPR which states that Personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.

What is the average time taken to resolve these grievances?

Response:

About 264 days.

2. Senior-to-junior level grievances:

How many grievances have been filed by junior employees against senior employees in the last 12 months?

Response:

There have been 8 cases raised on the basis of junior to senior grievances in 2024.  This figure excludes disciplinary cases that have resulted from concerns raised by employees against other senior members conduct.

What is the average time taken to resolve these grievances?

Response:

Average length of time is 318 days.

3. Bullying and harassment:

How many formal grievances related to bullying and harassment have been filed in the last 12 months?

Response:

There have been 11 formal grievances raised related to bullying and harassment.

What is the average time taken to resolve these grievances?

Response:

Average length of time to resolve these grievances 200 days.

4. Settlements paid:

How many settlements have been paid by the GLA in relation to workplace grievances in the last 12 months?
