In London, unlike the rest of the country, data is collected and collated through a combination of an automated data service (the Planning London Datahub) and a manual process (the starts and completions survey) the combination of the two provide the data for Housing Flow Return each year. The datahub also provides data for many public and private services to understand changes in population, supply chain issue, as well as map where development is happening.
1. What was your target for the number of affordable housing units fulfilled through section 106 planning obligations in the financial year April 2022 - April 2023?
There is no target for affordable housing delivery through affordable housing through S106 agreements per se, however you can find out more about what the delivery of affordable housing in a pan London way in the London Plan. 2. How many housing units (all types of housing) were fulfilled in the financial year April 2022 - April 2023 from planning applications where a s106 obligation was in place?
We do not keep a record of whether affordable housing is delivered as a result of a section 106 agreement, however the boroughs have just completed their returns to the GLA on the delivery of housing up to April 2023. This is submitted to Government through the HFR process (submitted October 2023).
