Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I seek access to documents detailing the following information regarding London Union Learn Project (LULP).
- How much funding has the London Union Learn Project ever received from the Greater London Authority?
Response:
I can confirm that the GLA holds the information within scope of your request.
Since October 2022, the GLA currently makes funding available to the London Union Learn Project up to a maximum cost of £278,466 per annum from the Adult Education Budget. Further details and approvals for the London Union Learn Project are set out in:
MD3016 AEB Funding and Performance Management Rules 2022-23 under points 1.23 to 1.26.
Actual costs incurred by the project since inception are £48,864.77 for the 2023/2024 financial year and £163,444.65 for the current financial year (April – December 2024 only).
London Union Learn Project has also secured additional third-party funding to expand its support offer to learners. The GLA recently made an application to The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Opportunity Fund.
This is an AI skilling initiative designed to equip workers, especially those who need more support to upskill themselves, with the foundational AI knowledge and tools needed for long-term positive professional outcomes for funding to expand support under the London Union Learning Programme (LULP) in April 2024, and has been notified of award of the maximum grant available of 100,000 EUR.
