Background

The challenge

As the climate changes, we learn more about how we should prepare London for the impacts of climate change. Despite action, extreme weather events like severe heat and storms are increasing. This is leading to more frequent floods, droughts and wildfires in the capital.

To make sure that London is ready for more extreme weather, the Mayor has set up the London Climate Resilience Review. The Review will recommend actions to help the capital adapt to its changing climate and prepare for the impacts of severe weather.

Our approach

The London Climate Resilience Review is an independent review. It seeks to identify what we can do to make London ready for extreme weather. The Review also aims to understand what is stopping actions from happening already.

The team are hearing from Londoners and technical experts to understand their concerns and experiences of climate change. They also want to hear from Londoners about their plans to prepare for extreme weather.

The Review will be published in December 2023.
