How it works
Want to take part in our surveys and discussions but don’t know where to start? Find out how to have your say on Talk London.
We created this guidance based on the most common questions in our inbox.
If you still need help with your account, please use our contact form to get in touch.
Where can I find open surveys and discussions?
After you log into your Talk London account, you’ll be able to view on the homepage any surveys or discussions that you haven’t yet taken.
Or alternatively click the “New” tab in the navigation header to view all open surveys and discussions. When logged in, this ‘New' page will display the same info as your homepage.
How do I start a discussion?
Because our surveys and discussions are set up for the insight needs of policy teams in City Hall, members can’t set up their own discussions. Your responses in our discussions will be used to help shape City Hall plans and policies.
If there’s a particular topic you think we should cover on Talk London, please use our contact form to let us know.
There are a few different ways to get involved:
- You can comment or reply to other members’ comments.
- You can show your support to other member’s comments by clicking the green upvote button. To show you care, you can click the red heart icon.
- If you feel that a comment is breaking the community guidelines, you can report it to us by clicking the report button.
Why do I need to create an account to take a survey?
We ask you to create an account so we can:
- Make sure we're hearing from London's diverse communities
- Send you relevant information and opportunities to take part
- Keep you updated about how you're helping to shape plans and policies
You can read more about how we use your information in our privacy policy.
To take part in a survey without becoming a Talk London member, email us at [email protected]
What are the community guidelines?
Anything you publish will appear almost right away. We want everyone to feel welcome to get involved in a constructive way. Our community guidelines will help us all do this.
Read our community guidelines.

Together with our research team, we analyse your contributions before sharing them anonymously with relevant policy teams.
Once analysed and reported, we will share with you the impact your feedback has made to policies and programmes in City Hall.
We may use some of your posts to illustrate a point in our reports but will never reveal or share any of your personal, identifiable data.
Where can I find my impact?
You can find our updates at the bottom of the homepage and on our dedicated impact page.
As a logged in member, you will see a personalised impact dashboard. This will show updates on the surveys or discussions you took part in. You can also find this dashboard in your Talk London account.
