Background

What is this event about?

Twice a year, City Hall organises a People’s Question Time (PQT) event. This is your chance to put your questions directly to the Mayor and the Members of the London Assembly about transport, safety, the environment, housing, the economy and more.

Because of the pandemic and government guidelines, City Hall was unable to organise a live event with a large gathering if people. That's why on 12 November 2020, People's Question Time took place online for the first time ever.

Our approach

Londoners were invited to submit their questions for the Mayor and the Members of the London Assembly ahead of the event, here on Talk London. If your question gets chosen, you could ask it directly to the Mayor and the London Assembly via video link on the night.

City Hall's research team shortlisted the questions, making sure popular question themes are included alongside a broad range of questions from a diverse representation of Londoners.

Londoners who registered to watch the online event, were also invited to ask their questions during the live chat.

Policy team

The Talk London team is working with City Hall's Events for London team, the Mayor's Office, the London Assembly, the digital team and marketing team.
