I would like to know how much the Mayor is talking to and co-operating with other Mayors around the country like Andy Burnham. It seems to me that London is being set up against the rest of the country when, in fact, we have more in common that divides us. The mayors and the big authorities need to work together.

Mr. Mayor, and Members of the London Assembly,

For decades, I have wanted to move to England, especially London. I was never sure of when or how to do this, but the current Coronavirus pandemic has pressed the matter.

I have previously gone through cancer - in 2011 - and a stroke - in 2013. Despite these challenges, I have earned a Bachelor's in Mathematics, a Master's in Education, have teaching licenses for Mathematics at all grade levels, and had been working my way toward a PhD in Education prior to the stroke. Since then, I have redirected myself toward applying my degree in Mathematics toward work in the Information Technology field, and had been working in that area prior to the pandemic.

The above is to illustrate that I would not simply be a rescue case, but could be a positive contributor toward English society. The current pandemic, however, prompts me to write to you to plead for help. My health issues have placed me at high risk for infection, and I am surrounded by people in a place where no one cares any for the matter - brazenly strutting around without face masks, coughing and sneezing without covering their mouths, and laughing at my attempts to protect myself.

So, I am writing you to plead my case, that you would rescue me from what is seeming like certain death due to a fully preventable matter, and - when time and restrictions allow - to allow me safe passage.

Respectfully yours,
Eric

I’d like to know what the Mayor’s Office and Greater London Assembly is doing to support calls to get central government to uprate legacy benefits such as Employment Support and Jobseeker’s Allowances by £20 a week as per Universal Credit during the pandemic. Some of the capital’s most excluded people are subsisting on these legacy benefits and our needs are no less than those on UC. Why have we been left behind and what are London politicians doing to try to help us survive at this extremely difficult time?

£20 a week extra may not sound like a lot, but it may be the difference between eating properly or going hungry or being able to heat one’s home properly over winter, which is critically important in terms of resisting COVID-19.

Good evening.

I live in Borehamwood and we consider ourselves as Londoners, built by the LCC and paid our council taxes to the LCC, GLC and parts of Borehamwood to the GLA. You could say we are a part of Barnet.

Do you agree with me and can the GLA push for a correction to the London boundaries and maybe pushing the boundaries out as far the M25  in this part of North London. The M25  would make an excellent boundary line in my view. Something has to be done in this area.

Kind Regards

Bill

i LIVE IN MIDDLESEX COUNTY AREA AND DO NOT CONSIDER MYSELF TO BE IN LONDON. JUST UP THE ROAD FROM WHERE I LIVE, IT IS HERTSFORDSHIRE AND THEIR RESTRICTIONS ARE USUALLY DIFFERENT.

THANKYOU

Exactly what have you achieved during your term in office, other than bankrupting TFL, increasing violence on our streets and completely failing on the number of houses you had promised to build. Pls explain

You have, commendably, entered into a partnerships with Octopus Energy to provide ethically sourced energy for Londoners (London Power). This undoubtedly suggest that Londoner will have trusted access to affordable energy. Why then is it still complicated to decipher how energy prices are determined and why we (as the consumers of that energy) do not have ready access to the intricacies of pricing formulas and provision sourcing - hopefully to ensure that value for money is being considered in what, subjectively speaking, aught to be viewed as essential commodities (gas and electricity) and not profit making entities.

I understand the reasoning behind the cycle lanes/superhighways and as a cyclist safety is important but taking road space along major roads has just increased the stationary traffic and is surely making pollution worse not better?  Cycling is healthy but not sure cycling along with all that pollution is as healthy as it should be.  Many cyclist still use the road as we all travel at different speeds and have different abilities.

Any future cycle routes should be made along less busy back roads and pavements where they are wide enough.  The congestion fee for vehicles is just that a payment to sit in traffic and I feel has not reduced the amount of vehicles unless it is just squishing them into one lane where there were two previously makes it look worse than it is?  Of course I presume you have those figures and I don't just saying what I see on the routes I take.

I want to ask about the necessity of changing BST 1 hour backward. Let BST remain. This rule was made in 1960's. There is no valid reason to change the time backwards. If anything we lose out on daylight as most people would be sleeping when it is daylight outside e.g. if it is meant to be 7 a.m. BST, but in reality it is 6 a.m. winter time and people would be sleeping. We are losing out on daylight. Also in the evening it becomes unsafe for people coming back home. E.g. it is meant to be 7pm BST, but it is actually 6pm winter time, so outside it is dark as if it would be 7pm. If there was more light, it would be safer. Furthermore, in medical side of things, a lot of things can go wrong when things are done electronically. Please let it remain BST.

Dear Mr Mayor and assembly members,

I suggest you to make wearing masks compulsory (in terms of enforcement), regarding this covid19 pandemic. I observe Mr Mayor is among the small number of high rank officials who really believes in masks judging from his social media feed, I hope more officials will support this and the obligation to wear masks shall continue.

The science is quite plain and simple about it (see US' dr. Fauci for instance), yet I wonder why in the UK, including in London, it seems that it is difficult to make it really compulsory (maybe it is compulsory in written regulations but I see it's still quite lenient in terms of implementation). I believe wearing masks will be a low-cost attempt with significant result in dealing with this pandemic.

Thank you

I agree. This is much better than lockdowns, and god knows what government controls are coming next.

Dear Mr Mayor and Members of the London Assembly,

As you obviously know well, London is a very multi-cultural city with many of us eager to travel out of the country for Christmas to visit friends and relatives. If London gets put under tier 3 restrictions in December, will be allowed to fly from London airports (provided the destination country allows visitors from the UK)?

Thanks

why has the legacy of the poll tax riots not been dissolved out of govt policy. after the riots the govt ensured that you had to pay council tax at the start of the month when you get paid at the end of the month. why is the mayor of london not asking for council tax to be aligned with how people are paid. you do not have a right to pay on any date other than the first of the month anc councils such as waltham forest refuses to let you pay on your pay day unless you pay by direct debit and on days they choose. is this fair that you want money from us before we earn it ?

TFL provides free transport of over 60's. Why is this qualifying age of the benefit not linked to the national insurance ("NI") retirement age? It does not make sense for people over the age of 60 but beneath the NI retirment age who are working to have free travel. It appears this benefit was introduced when the retirement age was 60 and has not been amended since then. It would help to recoup some of the costs of running TFL.

With the move to make the city more eco-friendly and avoid car usage , how is the London Mayor expanding the accessibility and usage of bikes across the city . Particularly in regard to Santander bike stations , which I've noticed in my borough of Lambeth (Brixton) are not always placed strategically near resident areas or in areas where less cars exist in high population density streets . This personally impacts my ability to cycle to and from work as well as seeing friends as I try to avoid using public transport when possible due to Covid and cost. Further to this in the south London region, there are no bike stations across Clapham , Streatham, South Brixton, Hern Hill, Dulwich, Peckham, Greenwich. Yet in other areas such as the Isle of Dogs (Canary Wharf) there are bike stations dotted everywhere despite a high level of cars and easy access to the DLR etc . Along with pedestrianising London (Zone 1) in the future  , I feel Zone 1-3 areas should have Santander bike stations accessible within 1km of their address , when can this become a reality ?

As we all know our society is becoming cashless mainly as a safety measure during the pandemic. It is quite reasonable yet i am curious to see what will happen to the homeless people and how will they be supported in a cashless society? Right now its Londoners who have enough spare change to share who support the homeless people but once we erase change and cash from the question what will happen to them? Already there are issues with shops and food places not accepting cash which means homeless are left with coins they cannot even use (which they could not so long ago) it leaves them to fend for themseleves with very limited options in the city. I would like to hear what you have to say about that and whether you have considered converting to a complete cashless society?

Why is it a lottery if you answer our concerns or not? Surely an MP should listen to all their constituents and respond not just the lucky ones. Has career politics put MPs beyond the reach of the layman?
