The Superloop: connecting outer London boroughs, more quickly
The Superloop is a network of 10 express bus routes in outer London. The orbital loop of the Superloop is now complete, with routes circling the entire capital. It connects town centres, hospitals, schools, and transport hubs.
The Superloop is a key part of the Mayor's commitment to improve the bus network in outer London to maximise the benefits of the London-wide Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) expansion. The final route of the Superloop, the SL4, will launch in 2025 when the Silvertown tunnel opens.
Travelling on the Superloop
You can now travel on the full loop making journeys quicker and more convenient for everyone. The SL4 route from Canary Wharf to Grove Park will open in 2025.
The Superloop goes from:
- Thamesmead to Bromley;
- Bromley to Croydon;
- Croydon to Heathrow Airport;
- Heathrow Airport to Harrow;
- Uxbridge to White City;
- Harrow to North Finchley;
- North Finchley to Walthamstow; and
- Walthamstow to North Woolwich.

The Superloop, shaped by you
After the Mayor announced the Superloop in March 2023, Transport for London (TfL) ran full public consultations on the proposed new routes. This gave Londoners and boroughs a chance to have their say on where these routes should go and where they should stop.
TfL also rebranded four existing bus routes in summer 2023 to help people easily identify the Superloop express services. The full loop was complete by March 2024.
