What does the course involve?
You may leave the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) register for a number of reasons, and readmission to the register is dependant on a number of factors.
Returning to nursing following a break in your career is a common situation.
The criteria for returning to the register is set out by the NMC and normally means you need to complete a short university course alongside a clinical placement reflecting your chosen area of practice.
How much does it cost?
Funding is available through Health Education England (HEE), this includes course fees – see Comeback to Nursing for more information.
How long does it take?
3-12 months depending on the returner's needs and circumstances
Entry requirements
- must have previously been registered with the NMC as a nurse
- health clearance
- police clearance – UK DBS
