Domestic gas boilers are responsible for a significant amount of London’s emissions, and specifically nitrogen oxides (NOx). This study measures the concentrations of nitrogen oxides emitted from 13 domestic gas boilers in London.
For 12 of the boilers, the measured NOX concentrations were converted to NOX emission rates in order to directly compare against the manufacturers’ stated emission rates for each boiler. With the exception of one boiler, measured and manufacturer’s stated emission rates compared well, with an average of 94 per cent agreement.
