In October 2022, a free digital ‘green careers’ toolkit will be made available to all secondary schools in London, giving practical advice about accessing green jobs, how they help to reduce damage to our planet and what GCSEs and future pathways will best prepare students for a green career.

In the meantime, please find below our lesson resource from 2021 about Climate Change and London.

2021 Lesson Resources

For the Climate Kick-Start in 2021, Museum of London curated a unique Key Stage 3 lesson resource to help teachers engage London students with the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26) and related environmental issues.

This is intended as an entry-level resource for schools and covers the basics of climate impacts not only around the world, but also in London. The simple 'plug-and-play' PowerPoint presentation can be delivered in three 20 minute sessions (during tutor time or assemblies) or one 60 minute lesson (such as Geography or Science). It covers:

  • what is COP and why does it matter?
  • climate change and London
  • why does climate change need a global effort?

Each section contains a video voiced by a famous Londoner: spoken word artist, Kae Tempest; radio DJ, Dev Griffin; and Paralympian and television presenter, Ade Adepitan, MBE.

The FAQs are intended to provide additional context for the resource plus a list of further learning resources from the other organisations such as WWF and BBC Teach.
