Question
Toilets at Vauxhall Station
I understand that the toilets at Vauxhall Station are normally staffed and open in the daytime (8am-8pm) Monday to Sunday. Would you consider opening the toilets overnight (e.g. 24hr opening) if security were in place overnight and funded, for instance, by Vauxhall One as the local Business Investment District?
Answer
Anti-social behaviour can be a problem at some toilet facilities on the transport network, especially at night. Damage can result in facilities being out of service for extended periods. With respect to the toilets at Vauxhall Bus Station, an increased security presence could form part of a package of interventions to increase operational hours. However, this would be very costly and other factors would need to be assessed as well. If another organisation were able to provide additional funding, then Transport for London would be happy to discuss this with them.
