The total funding that the Mayor contributes to the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group Budget from business rates and council tax is set to increase in 2023-24 by £153.2 million from 2022-23.
However, this is set against a backdrop of uncertainty for tax receipts and increasing inflation.
The London Assembly Budget & Performance Committee begins its budget scrutiny process tomorrow by discussing the Mayor's Budget Guidance for 2023-24.
Topics for discussion include funding uncertainty, the impact of inflation on the GLA Group Budget, the introduction of a London Climate Budget and funding of the London Assembly.
The guests are:
- David Bellamy, Mayor's Chief of Staff, GLA
- David Gallie, Executive Director, Resources, GLA
- Enver Enver, Assistant Director Group Finance and Performance, GLA
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 21 September 2022, at 2.00pm in the Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.
Media and members of the public are invited to attend
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE via webcast or on YouTube.
