In March 2022, the Greater London Authority (GLA) published an independent review by the Equal Group into whether there were structural barriers that prevented Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority staff progressing at the GLA.
The Equal Group’s report contained 42 recommendations to remove barriers to the recruitment and progression of Ethnic Minority staff. The GLA’s Chief Officer accepted all 42 recommendations and committed to providing the Committee with a biannual update on progress being made in relation to the review.
Tomorrow the GLA Oversight Committee will meet to examine the GLA Workforce Report and consider the actions that the GLA is taking in response to the findings from The Equal Group Independent Review into the experiences of Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority staff.
Guests at the meeting will be
- Mary Harpley, Chief Officer, GLA
- Shakira Keddo, Assistant Director, People Function, GLA
The London Assembly’s GLA Oversight Committee will meet at 2.00pm on Wednesday 12 July 2023.
