Responding to the publication of a report by His Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS) into the Metropolitan Police, Susan Hall AM, Chairman of the London Assembly Police and Crime Committee, said:
"The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee is extremely concerned by the police inspectorate's report into the Metropolitan Police.
"There is a crisis in confidence in the Metropolitan Police and Londoners need and deserve to see real changes. We trust that the new Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley recognises the challenges ahead and will take urgent action to address failings identified in the report.
"We will study the report in detail and look forward to asking the new Commissioner about his plans to transform the force at a Police and Crime Committee meeting next month. We will also be taking up the issue with the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime."
