Fire Committee
The Fire Committee reviews the London Fire Commissioner's priorities and objectives and/or makes recommendations. Its work includes:
- Any actions and decisions of the Mayor and/or Deputy Mayor for Fire in relation to the GLA’s fire duties and responsibilities;
- Any actions and decisions of the London Fire Commissioner;
- Any actions and decisions of an officer of the London Fire Commissioner;
- Any other matters which the Assembly considers to be of importance to fire and rescue in Greater London.
The Committee monitors decisions made by the London Fire Commissioner and the Deputy Mayor for Fire and Resilience and uses the London Fire Brigade quarterly performance reports to inform its scrutiny work.

- Wrote to the London Fire Brigade on the availability of fire appliances and fireboats - August 2023
- Wrote to the Minister for Crime, Policing and Fire calling on enhanced level DBS checks for all fire and rescue services - June 2023
- Responded to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ consultation - March 2023
