- Please provide documentation of the request, and the granting of the request, for the Mayor of London to become such a 'direct stakeholder', in the context given above.
Our response
Please see below the information we hold within the scope of your request:
- The procedure for approval of Mayor of London and Supported by Mayor of London logos can be found in the Look Book which contains our brand guidelines.
- They are able to use our ‘supported by Mayor of London’ logos because the GLA has invested in both CTU and the Highline via our Regeneration Funding programmes. The Mayor has signalled ongoing support for the Highline via his manifesto and publicly at events. We do not hold documentation beyond our contractual arrangements for funding which specify that projects should credit the Mayor of London and this is expected for all our investments. Support was provided in developing a feasibility report through Crowdfund London. The funding agreement related to this authorises the use of the Mayor of London logo on related materials. You can find a copy of the agreement on the GLA’s disclosure log.
- Regarding the use of the Mayor of London logo within the masterplan, the supporting text summaries below describe how the scheme has potential to meet the Mayor’s objectives across multiple policy areas, including the London Plan, active travel, access to green space and health and wellbeing. This is the context in which the Mayor is described as a 'stakeholder':
- Letter from the Deputy Mayor for Transport confirming the support of the Mayor and London’s Walking and Cycling Commissioner Will Norman (page 8)
- Mayor's manifesto commitment to the project
- Mayor’s public support for the scheme
