All the recovery mission teams have been busy making progress towards their goals. Here are their updates on what's been going on.

COVID-19 is not over and we have to stay vigilant over winter. The rollout of the booster vaccine programme and the new guidance on wearing face masks will help us reduce the spread of the virus. London’s recovery programme is working hard on its nine missions to restore confidence in our city and make London greener, fairer and safer than ever before. Getting Londoners involved in COP26

You will have heard about the big climate conference COP26 in the news, but what was it all about?

The team behind the recovery mission on A Green New Deal have written an update with their report from COP26, including practical tips for what Londoners can do to help save the planet.

New funding for high streets

Earlier this year, many of you shared your ideas to improve your local area. Fifteen boroughs have now secured funding from the Mayor to revitalise their high streets. These projects aim to help high streets flourish and thrive by bringing communities together, creating jobs and making town centres safer.

In their latest update, the High Streets for All mission team talk about the High Streets for All Challenge and tell us about some of the successful projects.

Mental wellbeing: a message of hope for young people

The pandemic has affected all Londoners in different ways. This year’s World Mental Health Day was a reminder of the need to reflect, talk and reach out.

In their latest update, the Mental Health and Wellbeing mission team tell us how young people shared their message of hope at a three-day festival.

Using Londoners’ ideas to strengthen communities

In the summer, Londoners shared their ideas and insights at the Festival of Ideas, including here on Talk London. In their latest update, the Building Strong Communities mission team explain how they’ve used these ideas and feedback to identify seven key elements of strong communities.

Read about the findings from the Festival of Ideas.

Employment rights, advice and healthy meals

With employment levels still lower than they were before the pandemic, Londoners can get free advice on their employment rights.

Digital access for everyone

The pandemic made us rely on online technology to work from home, socialise with friends and family, shop and much more. The Digital Access for All recovery mission wants to make sure that no Londoner is left out.

Read more about reusing public sector devices, using data to map digital exclusion, expanding the fibre network and more.

Career help and adult education

The Helping Londoners into Good Work mission team is working to raise awareness of adult education in London. They’re also helping Londoners find good work, especially in sectors that support the pandemic recovery, such as the green, creative, digital, health and hospitality sectors.

Find out about career hubs for young people, support for creatives and more in the mission team’s latest update.

A new focus on healthy places

One of the nine original recovery missions was about Healthy Food, Healthy Weight. In response to evidence about where we can make the biggest impact on Londoners’ lives, the team is changing the focus of this mission.

Find out more about why the mission team has decided to focus on healthy places.
