Walking in London

We would like to find out how often you walk, what your local green spaces are like, and more.

We would like to find out how often you walk, what the green spaces in your local area are like, and how you discover new places to visit on foot.

City Hall is working with start-ups and small businesses to make walking in London more attractive. We're looking for Londoners to help us test a smartphone app that uncovers walks throughout London.

Take our quick survey and find out if you're eligible to test the app.

The survey ran from 19 October 2018 - 29 October 2018

The Mayor's Transport Strategy aims for 80% of all trips to be made on foot, by cycle or public transport by 2041.

As part of the Civic Innovation Challenge in 2018, City Hall worked with start-ups and small businesses to make walking in London more attractive. One of them came up with an app that uncovers walks and hidden gems throughout the capital.

After taking this survey, some of our Talk London members were among the first to test out the Go Jauntly app before it got rolled out in 2019.

Fast forward to November 2022 when Transport for London announced they teamed up with Go Jauntly again. Together they created Walk London, one of the world’s largest networks of walking routes.

From waterside walks along London’s rivers and canals to our city’s finest green spaces, there’s a London walk for everyone.
