Students who finished Year 13 in July 2024

The Get An Apprenticeship Adviser (GAAA) service has now closed for students who are no longer attending school or college.  If you are still looking to explore apprenticeships below are some useful resources and information. 

Current Year 13 students

Apprenticeship Support and Knowledge in schools and colleges (ASK) will be hosting online sessions each term to provide information and advice.  The sessions will cover what an apprenticeship is, how to register for vacancies and how to improve your applications.

From January 2025 you will be able to access the bespoke service when the GAAA link will be reactivated.

Current Year 12 students

For Early Connect in 2024/25 Year 12 students can access the ASK online sessions which will run throughout the academic year.  You will not be eligible for bespoke sessions through the GAAA link in this academic year.

ASK Sessions

22 October 2024: Apprenticeship Overview

This session will provide a spotlight on apprenticeships, including the range of apprenticeship roles available, apprenticeship levels, examples of companies that offer apprenticeships, salary range, when and where to apply, and the balance of the work placement and studying elements.

26 November: Registration workshop

This session will provide information on where to find apprenticeship vacancies, including UCAS, Find an Apprenticeship, LinkedIn and others. It will also discuss the application process, including when to apply and what the process entails.

17 December 2024:  Employability workshop (CVs and Interview practice)

This session will provide an overview of the key skills you will require to successfully navigate the apprenticeship recruitment process, including recognising your strengths, CVs, assessment centres and interviews.

The new Early Connect apprenticeship support for young people website has been launched.

You can register your details on Find An Apprenticeship (FAA) website to search for vacancies. There is also a video tutorial on the FAA signup process available on YouTube and via our Early Connect website.

The National Careers Service (NCS) provides career information, advice and guidance to help you make decisions at all stages in your career.

Our Apprenticeships website contains lots of information designed for young people considering apprenticeships as their next step.

Amazing Apprenticeships is a leading organisation in the education sector, working with schools, colleges and employers, tackling misconceptions and promoting the benefits of apprenticeships and technical education. Amazing Apprenticeships also runs a number of workshops and programmes that may be of particular interest.
