    • To put on a gig, performance, exhibition, event or festival there are a range of creative production businesses are needed such as lighting, audio-visual businesses, set designers, textile wholesalers, prop hire, photographic studios and fine art logistics specialists
    • New research estimates that the impact of COVID-19 on London’s culture and creative industries together with its supply chain will cost the economy £16.3bn and put 152,000 jobs at risk
    • It shows that the creative supply chain alone would mean the loss of loss 83,200 jobs and wipe £3.3bn off the value of London’s economy without government action now
    • Many venues will still be unable to open for the foreseeable future leaving those production businesses that supply London’s theatres, museums, galleries, performance spaces, events and media industry also without revenue

    Methodology

    The findings presented here are based on a mixed-method research investigating the impact of COVID-19 on the creative industries supply chain. An economic analysis of the projected impacts of COVID-19 on the London’s creative supply chain carried out by PRD and drawing from the Oxford Economics’ figures and analysis commissioned by the Creative Industry Federation, Office for Budget Responsibility scenario, Bank of England scenario and the Greater London Authority’s Creative Supply Chains Study.
