The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant and sustained impact on Transport for London’s (TfL) ridership and finances. TfL has continued to run almost a full service, despite the reduction in passenger numbers which has resulted in a loss of 75 per cent of its anticipated passenger income in the first half of 2020-21.
The London Assembly will hold a question and answer session tomorrow to discuss the development and delivery of the Mayor’s strategic transport priorities and identify the key challenges facing TfL in this Mayoralty, including London’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics may include:
- TfL Finances
- Crossrail
- Ridership
- Walking and Cycling
- London Underground
- Overground rail services
- Bus Services
- Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ)
The guests are:
- Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London and Chair of Transport for London (TfL)
- Andy Byford, Commissioner, Transport for London (TfL)
Following the discussion, London Assembly Members will debate these motions.
The meeting will take place on Thursday, 2 September 2021 from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).
Media and members of the public are invited to attend.
The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube
