As researchers across the world grow ever-closer to developing a successful COVID-19 vaccine, the London Assembly Health Committee will tomorrow delve into what the NHS, the Mayor and the Government must do to ensure our city is prepared for when one comes available.
The Committee will investigate pre-existing attitudes towards vaccinations in general, current research into attitudes towards a potential COVID-19 vaccine, and what this means for Londoners and the future distribution of a vaccination.
Questions will also be asked about what infrastructure is needed to deliver a COVID-19 vaccination, and how the Mayor should integrate the complex work of the NHS, National Institute for Health Protection and other agents involved.
The guests are:
- Dr Daisy Fancourt, Associate Professor of Psychobiology & Epidemiology, University College London and Lead Investigator of the COVID Social Study
- Dr Penelope Toff, Co-Chair, Public Health Medicine Committee, British Medical Association
- Dr Richard Jarvis, Co-Chair, Public Health Medicine Committee, British Medical Association
The meeting will take place on Tuesday 20 October at 10:30am.
This meeting will take place in a hybrid format, with some Members participating virtually and some participating in person, in accordance with Government advice and requirements on social distancing.
Media and members of the public can watch the meeting live here.
