News from Joanne McCartney: New water refill stations in Enfield welcomed

Responding to the Mayor of London’s announcement of the 50 locations for new water refill stations across London, including Edmonton Green and Enfield Town stations in Enfield, Local London Assembly Member, Joanne McCartney AM said:

“I am delighted the Mayor is funding these new water refill stations.

“We must do everything we can to tackle the rising tide of plastic waste, particularly as so many plastic bottles end up in our rivers and waterways, posing a danger to wildlife and getting into the foodchain.

“During the summer months it’s also really important that Londoners keep hydrated, especially when traveling on the trains and Tube. Easy access to a reliable and clean supply of water also helps achieve this.”
