Sight loss in London

Health Committee




Sight loss in London costs the economy billions of pounds. Yet, many cases of sight loss are avoidable. The Health Committee report, ‘Eye Health – preventing sight loss in London’ looks into protecting Londoners’ eyesight.

Affordable housing in London

Housing Committee – 10:00am in The Chamber




London needs around 66,000 new homes a year to meet the demands of the growing population. The Housing Committee will look into affordable housing, Built to Rent and what the Mayor can do to meet housing demand, especially for those whose needs are not met by the housing market.

Wednesday 6 December

Pedicabs & Cycling infrastructure

Transport Committee - 10:00am in The Chamber




Around 650 pedicabs work the streets of London but because they are unlicensed, it is hard to be exact on numbers. In recent times, there have been concerns about pedicab operations, related to anti-social behaviour, traffic congestion and over-charging of passengers. The guests are:

Thursday 7 December

Energy from waste and airborne particles

Environment Committee - 2:30pm in The Chamber

In the first part of this meeting, the Environment Committee will conclude its waste management investigation with a focus on energy from waste. The impact on environment and public health and the potential impact of Brexit on the waste business will be discussed.
