The Mayor’s strategy for equality, diversity and inclusion
The Mayor’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy sets out how he will work to create a fairer, more equal, integrated city where all people feel welcome and able to fulfil their potential.
In November 2022 the Mayor published a new set of equality objectives to replace those published in ‘Inclusive London’ in 2018.
A six part strategy
The strategy is made up of six parts:
- a great place to live
- a great place for young people
- a great place to work and do business
- getting around
- a safe, healthy and enjoyable city
- leading by example.
These guides highlight sections of the strategy that are of particular relevance to the following groups:
An inclusive city for black, Asian and minority ethnic Londoners
An inclusive city for Deaf and disabled Londoners
An inclusive city for older Londoners
An inclusive city for LGBT+ Londoners
Inclusive London BSL audio and subtitles
Evidence base
The equality, diversity and inclusion evidence base informs the Mayor's strategy and outlines the scale of inequality between different groups of Londoners for a range of social policy issues.
Measuring progress
A set of indicators are being used to monitor the state of equality in London. These will be used to check whether the priorities in the strategy remain the right ones and to guide future decision making.
