How can The Mayor deliver good transport for Londoners?

The Mayor’s Transport Strategy is his commitment to delivering better transport for Londoners – promising Healthy Streets and Healthy People, a Good Public Transport Experience, and a transport system that helps Deliver New Homes and Jobs.

Since the Strategy’s launch in 2018, some targets have been exceeded but others have been missed.

Following the Mayor’s re-election, the London Assembly Transport Committee will examine how his 2024 Manifesto commitments can ensure the Strategy is delivered and identify any barriers that might stop goals being met.

Experts on London travel and transport will tell the Committee what progress they have seen and what more can be done, before Assembly Members question the Deputy Mayor for Transport and TfL’s Director of Transport Strategy and Planning on how they will deliver on the Mayor’s promises.

The guests from 10-11.30am are:

  • Michael Roberts – Chief Executive, London TravelWatch
  • Silviya Barrett – Director of Policy and Campaigns, Campaign for Better Transport
  • Caroline Stickland – CEO, Transport for All
  • Cllr Kieron Williams – Chair of the Transport and Environment Committee, London Councils

The guests from 11.30am-12.45pm are:

  • Seb Dance – Deputy Mayor for Transport
  • Christina Calderato – Director of Transport Strategy and Planning, TfL

The meeting will take place on Wednesday 10 July from 10am, in the Chamber at City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, E16 1ZE.

Media and members of the public are invited to attend.

The meeting can also be viewed LIVE or later via webcast or YouTube.
