Punch & Juicy is a project that teaches young people how to grow, create and sell healthy food and drink. They've launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a new pop-up market stall which will educate young people about healthy food and business.

In this blog they tell us about their project and why they're raising money through crowdfunding.

Tell us about your organisation and its key aims

Our main aim is to promote the benefits of healthy drinking by selling homemade liquid foods. Through our Juice Academy we also teach individuals how to make healthy smoothies, juices and soups.

What is your project, why is it important and how will it help people in your area?

The area of Brent has over 500 fast food take aways with a imited amount of healthy options. The rate of child diabetes and obesity has grown over the last 5 years. Teaching young people about the life cycle of their food allows them to understand where their food comes from.

Our project equips young people with kitchen skills that will enable them to become self sufficient and builds confidence. The community will become more aware of alternative drinking and eating methods. Each young person will also learn how to grow, create and sell healthy produce as well as learning transferable entrepreneurial skills at the same time.

Why, when and how should people pledge to you?

Pledging to our campaign will kickstart a new healthy living programme that is not yet available in the area, help those on low incomes to live a healthier life, and enable us to enhance our programme delivery by getting a professional support team on board.

Please pledge before 29 September on Spacehive. You can also drop donations off to pledge points at Thereom Studios in Willesden and Ankh Wellbeing Centre Shepherds Bush. Or purchase a ticket to our event on the 24, buy a raffle ticket there, or book Punch & Juicy to provide you with a Pop Up Juice Bar!

Is there anything specific you need in-kind?

A gazebo, flyers, banners, TV interviews, business cards, packaging, delivery bikes, gardening equipment, allotment spaces, kitchen tools and uniforms (such as, aprons, chopping boards, knives).

Finally we always want free or ugly fruit that normally wouldn't sell to the public!

Do you have any public events or media appearances coming up?

At Civic Centre Wembley on 14 September, and an Interview on Omega FM on 14 September 104.1 FM!

Are there any other ways people can meet you face-to-face or help you?

You can email [email protected] for a meeting. Keep an eye out on Twitter / Instagram and the Punch and Juicy Facebook Page.
