OPDC Local Heritage Listings
OPDC’s Local Heritage Listings were adopted on 30 January 2020 and provide information for 64 non-designated heritage assets in the OPDC area.
Local Heritage Listings assist OPDC in identifying ‘non-designated’ heritage assets. This ensures that the conservation of a non-designated asset is a material consideration in determining planning applications. It also helps OPDC to identify and use the asset to shape the character of new development.
Unlike Statutory Listed Assets, Local Heritage Listings do not benefit from statutory protection from demolition. Due to the scale of development proposed in the OPDC area, it is likely that there will be harm to or loss of some assets on the Local Heritage Listings.
