2024-25 Greater London Authority (GLA) Group Budget - LFB

Budget and Performance Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) is projected to use £22.5 million of reserves in 2024-25, with an additional drawdown of £12.8 million forecasted in 2025-26.

What impact will this use of reserves have on LFB budgets now and in the future, and is the draft budget too reliant on reserves? The Budget and Performance Committee will meet to discuss the LFB 2024-25 Budget.

2024-25 GLA Group Budget - MOPAC/MPS

Budget and Performance Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 1pm

The Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) and Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) 2024-25 Budget includes a total budget gap of £41 million. This is despite £121.4 million in savings, including finding £52.5 million in new savings by reprioritising.

What impact will this have on policing in the capital, and what does the reprioritisation of services look like? The Budget and Performance Committee will meet to discuss the MOPAC/MPS 2024-25 Budget.

Money laundering in London

Police and Crime Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

The City of London Police describe money laundering as “the lifeblood of organised crime, allowing organised crime groups to enjoy the proceeds of their harmful criminal activity”.

The Police and Crime Committee will discuss what is being done to tackle money laundering in London, and how effective law enforcement agencies are at identifying and combatting existing and emerging forms of money laundering.

Greening 'grey' infrastructure

Environment Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

Transport for London (TfL) has targets relating to green infrastructure, including achieving a net gain in biodiversity across the estate and incorporating Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) into its highway schemes.

For the second meeting in a two-part investigation into protecting green spaces and greening infrastructure, the Environment Committee will focus on the road network, public spaces and land controlled by the GLA.
