Budget process begins with GLA budget plans

Budget and Performance Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

Over the coming months, the London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee will meet to scrutinise all aspects of the Mayor’s budget, looking at each part of the Greater London Authority (GLA) Group, including the GLA, Transport for London and the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC).

The Committee will meet for the first part of this scrutiny process, with senior GLA officers being quizzed on the GLA budget plans for 2024/25, considering the impact of increasing inflation rates and staff costs, and also proposals for use of GLA reserves.

How does the Met investigate road collisions?

Police and Crime Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

In 2022, 102 people were killed and 3,859 people were seriously injured in collisions on London’s roads.

In 2018, the Mayor published his ‘Vision Zero’ action plan which aims to eliminate all deaths and serious injuries on London's transport system.

The London Assembly Police and Crime Committee will meet to examine the Met’s response and approach to investigating serious injury collisions in London.

GLA consultations

GLA Oversight Committee – The Chamber, City Hall, Kamal Chunchie Way, 10am

For the first of a two part investigation into the current GLA consultation process, the GLA Oversight Committee will hear from external experts on the current GLA process. It will be an opportunity to draw out wider lessons from past consultations and consider if more rigorous processes are needed.
