Biography

Rory McKenna joined the GLA as Monitoring Officer in April 2023.

Rory is a solicitor and has worked for a number of local government authorities since 2004.  Prior to joining the GLA he acted as the Monitoring Officer for South Cambridgeshire District Council.

Responsibilities

The Monitoring Officer’s role is to promote, monitor and report on the compliance of its Members and staff with the high standard of ethical conduct that is expected of them – including with the seven principles of public life (the Nolan principles).

The Monitoring Officer works with the GLA’s elected politicians and chief officers to fulfil this statutory role.
