Biography

Prashant is a passionate change-maker with over 20 years of experience investing in and delivering equitable urban housing and infrastructure domestically and in Africa and Asia. He works at the Greater London Authority, leading the investment portfolio in North-East London (Housing and Land).

He manages the strategic GLA relationship across 10 North East London boroughs and a number of development partners. Furthermore, he also leads on a number of landled projects, including Barking Riverside.

Prashant is also a board member for Architecture Sans Frontieres, an organisation that supports communities and practitioners in co-designing more equitable cities.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the delivery of the Mayor’s housing led regeneration programmes and projects of all tenures across his portfolio, including the largest and most complex delivery projects in London and implementation of the Mayors flagship Affordable Housing Programme. The Head of Area and their respective teams act as both direct commissioner and client, delivering over 15,000 homes each year, working closely with Boroughs, registered providers and others to develop and deliver their housing and regeneration ambitions alongside the Mayor’s housing targets and corporate objectives. 
 
The Head of Area acts as expert technical, policy and delivery advisors within the GLA (Greater London Authority) and across the Mayoral Family, leading and advising on complex projects, investments and funding programmes. Working across the GLA family, the Head of Area also advises and brokers affordable housing investment in the Mayor’s Development Corporations, across the commercial TfL (Transport for London) portfolio and with other bodies in the Mayoral family.
