Biography
David Munn is the Head of Information and Communication Technology where he has responsibility for providing IT services to support the Mayor of London and the London Assembly in their work overseeing the running of a vibrant and exciting city.
He is the lead officer on implementing technology to support flexible and modern working methods and has driven forward initiatives on: cloud computing, agile development, shared services, green computing, the use of open source technology and opening up data to citizens.
He has worked at the GLA since 2002 when he managed the implementation of the technology installed as part of the fit-out of City Hall, the GLA's headquarters next to Tower Bridge on the south bank of the Thames. He is particularly proud of the team that he has assembled at City Hall who share his passion for customer care and innovation. Prior to working at the GLA David has worked in a wide variety of technology related roles.
Responsibilities
Responsible for leading on the technological modernisation of the GLA and other related organisations (MOPAC, OPDC and LLDC) through the development of effective Technology strategy and related plans and projects.
Managing and develop IT applications, infrastructure and systems across all areas and activities in the GLA and other related organisations, working with partners and providers to ensure the fullest contribution to service delivery and performance.
Making a major contribution to the development of technology strategy and implementation across London, working with partners.
