Grayling: State of Engagement report

Good relationships support good health

A number of OPDC staff participated in an interview about the State of Engagement in July 2017.

Report launch

The Public Relations agency Grayling, published the report was launched at a breakfast event and aims to give industry peers and colleagues a snapshot of expert thinking on best practice and challenges in the field of community engagement.

Other participants included Transport for London, the London Legacy Development Corporation, the NHS and Crossrail.

Key findings highlighted in the report include:

  • more than a third of those sampled have contributed to an engagement or consultation process in the past 12 months
  • three quarters of people (75%) say it is important for local people to have a say on proposed housing an infrastructure projects
  • more than half (58%) wanted to attend an event and speak to a member of the team – demonstrating face to face engagement remains important
