St George’s Day celebrations at Trafalgar Square on Sunday 21 April
London will celebrate St George’s Day on Sunday 21 April, with a programme of free, family-friendly entertainment in Trafalgar Square.
The celebrations will be hosted by Harley Moon Kemp, and will include a wide range of live music, entertainment and selection of food stalls.
From noon to 6pm, the main stage entertainment will include music from The Kurfew, Natalie Shay of Busk in London, West End Kids and Snottledogs, while Folkdance Remixed will present a mass barn dance.
Visitors can also look forward to She’s Got Brass, an all-female brass group, Nick Howe and the Stringbeats Trio and Tom Carradine for a cockney sing-a-long.
Family-friendly activities include an English Pentathlon with competitive events including welly wanging, pancake tossing, human Crufts, bubble Olympics, the art of Morris Dancing and a chance to meet Pearly Kings and Queens. St George and the dragon will be available for selfies.
There will be a range of food and drink stalls, from fish and chips to churros, visitors will also have the chance to sample food from Korea, Thailand, Bombay, Greece and Germany.
The free family event is organised by the Mayor of London.
