Retrofit Accelerator with Imperial College London

For Built Environment Tech Innovators

Support for innovators decarbonising the built environment

Imperial College London is offering deep-dive intensive innovation support to deep tech built environment innovators, delivered through two cohorts of 10 small business beneficiaries in each group.

Support provided to each cohort will be for 12 months, based on the diagnostic of need and agreed support plan. The support will be bespoke and delivered through one-to-one mechanisms, including advisors and innovation vouchers. This support will include facilitated introductions to demonstration sites to enable the supported businesses to showcase their innovations in a real world environment to drive confidence amongst both customers and investors.

The Programme

We select a minimum of 10 SME start-ups and scale-up and provide them with mission lead, founder focused support.

Each cohort is connected with our corporate members and a number of other key project developers in our network.

Pilot Project

The programme also includes a Pilot Project, where SMEs from the cohorts will work with stakeholders from the building retrofit sector across London, who are important in enabling the uptake and use of new innovations. This engagement will identify, and seek to solve, sticking points in the implementation of the SME’s solutions. Stakeholders include policy makers, housing associations, architects, planners, engineering firms, project developers, house builders, intermediary federations, and community groups.

These 'Pilot Projects’ will be a distinguishing feature of the programme, and aim to actively trial solutions via retrofit projects across London.
