Jobs and Skills for Londoners funding opportunity

The Mayor is launching a new competitive grant award process – Jobs and Skills for Londoners. All skills providers located in London and the ‘London Fringe’ can apply to deliver adult education and training services to Londoners.

In January 2022, the Mayor published his Skills Roadmap for London.  The Roadmap sets out how the Mayor plans to ensure London’s skills offer better serves London’s communities and economies. This builds on the success of City Hall’s local leadership since the delegation of the AEB to the Mayor in 2019. To do this, the Mayor will ensure skills provision in London is even more accessible, makes an impact and is locally relevant.

The Jobs and Skills for Londoners Fund will support the delivery of each pillar of the Skills Roadmap for London. Through this fund, the GLA is awarding grants to London-based providers for the delivery of GLA-funded Adult Education Budget (AEB) and Free Courses for Jobs (FCFJ) training provision. The funding will be used to help Londoners gain relevant skills, retrain, and move into “good work” in sectors key to London’s economy. These sectors are Digital, Health and Social Care, Hospitality, Green and Creative Industries.
