Retrofit Accelerator - Social Housing
The Mayor of London, backed by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), is leading the way in reducing household carbon emissions and transforming existing social housing into more comfortable, energy efficient homes.
The Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator aims to help social housing providers successfully bid into the next round of BEIS’ £160m Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund. The new initiative builds upon the Mayor’s Retrofit Accelerator – Homes programme.
The Social Housing Retrofit Accelerator offers a varied package of support which has been developed with and specifically for the social housing sector.
This new accelerator is part of the necessary push to increase the quality and speed of retrofitting which will help cut carbon emissions and reduce heating costs for thousands of social homes, including those living in or at risk of fuel poverty. Social housing providers across England will be able to access free support from July 2021.
Who can we support?
The support provided will be useful to the social housing sector generally, with a specific focus on organisations which can bid into the Government’s Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.

- Scoping and specification of the project
