Coloma Convent Girls' School provided training to primary teachers to enable them to teach the new Science curriculum.
The new primary science curriculum
The project aimed to close achievement gaps and increase the number of children exceeding age-related expectations, through training primary school teachers in the subject knowledge and skills needed to teach the new Science curriculum. These teachers would then disseminate their learning to their colleagues.
Findings show that the project created a striking increase in confidence and leadership skills. 93% of headteachers noticed improvement in the participants' teaching of science, and 58% of teachers said their teaching was 'much better' after the training.
The more interactive style and questioning has influenced my teaching style back to a more constructive and creative one.
