Around the city, over a hundred events have already happened for our Festival of Ideas. From glassblowing to rewilding, Londoners are finding amazing ways to get together and talk about their visions for strong communities.
We are bringing this Festival of Ideas to a close by creating an online space that celebrates these communities that have participated over the last few weeks, highlighting the plethora of events and ideas that have emerged throughout the Festival programme. We are opening the Building Strong Communities Mission, and we want you to be involved!
This space will act as a gallery of insights and ideas from festival participants, with short drop-in talks and workshops happening over the course of the afternoon. It is an opportunity for you to be part of the conversation around building strong communities and gain insight into how Londoners understand and value community strength across the city. At the heart of this space is a new piece by poet Kareem Parkins-Brown, 2019 Roundhouse Poetry Slam winner and Barbican Poet Alumni who has created a short film in response to festival themes. You are welcome to navigate this space at your own pace and build your own journey. There will be some challenges and prompts throughout, encouraging you to share your own ideas about strong communities.
