    In November 2021, the Mayor published original framework to support the strategic coordination around the urgent recovery needs from the pandemic.

    This updated 2022 report helps us to identify gaps in our activity, to come together with partners around new areas of work and to meaningfully tackle challenges of this scale we now need a clear framework for action.To enable this, teams at the GLA, London Councils and boroughs have worked together to refresh the Economic Framework.

  • CAZ Futures Action Plan (Nov 2022)

    There has been much recovery-focused work led by local authorities and GLA including the creation of the Economic Recovery Framework for London. However, there is no
    collectively agreed plan for the recovery of London’s Central Activities Zone (CAZ).
    This action plan aims to fill that gap, setting out how we will support the recovery and evolution of the CAZ post pandemic.

  • Economic Recovery Implementation Plan (2022)

    This 2022 Implementation Plan outlines how the GLA Group and Family are driving action to deliver the Economic Framework for London (October 2021) and support London’s economic recovery. The Implementation Plan addresses the 2021 Mayoral pledge to refresh London’s Economic Development Strategy in light of the new challenges brought upon by COVID-19.

  • Impact of Brexit Trade Deal on SMEs (May 2021)

    Greater London Authority's Opinion Research team undertook research, carried out by YouGov, with London's SMEs.

    The main objectives of the research was to understand the immediate impact of Brexit and the trade deal on London’s SMEs, including which areas of business are the most/least affected, and which areas of the trade deal are causing the most confusion. It also intended to assess the appetite of SMEs to continue/increase trading with the EU in light of the trade deal.

  • London: The AI Growth Capital of Europe’ (June 2018)

    Description
    The Mayor commissioned CognitionX to map Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation across London and identify the capital’s unique strengths as a global hub of AI.

    The research shows that London is the European capital of AI, and world-renowned in sectors such as insurance and finance. The findings of this research will inform the actions the Mayor will take to support the future growth of AI across different industries to drive innovation, productivity and growth.

    The Mayor’s vision of ‘good growth’ is set out in the draft New London Plan and draft Mayor’s Economic Development Strategy. It recognises that London needs to grow in a different way from how it has done in the past. This report focuses particularly on outlining plans for a ‘New London Mix’ of housing and commercial space, which could support growth and provide much needed workspaces - increasing current industrial floor space supply by up to 20 per cent.

  • Preparing for Brexit’ (January 2018)

    In 2018, the Mayor of London commissioned leading economic analysts Cambridge Econometrics to study the potential impact of different Brexit scenarios on London and the whole of the UK. The aim of the study was to develop scenarios to model five possible outcomes for the UK and London of the UK leaving the European Union Customs Union and Single Market.
