Working alongside senior representatives from boroughs, utility companies and the GLA, the service offers a regular and consistent communication channel for developers. The service’s components range from site specific insights and local collaboration to escalation systems and London-wide strategic forums.

Development Service activities are led by Coordinators based in various London boroughs. They have a pan-London scope and are managed centrally by the GLA. The team’s diverse experiences as built environment professionals allow us to harness the tangible benefits set out below for boroughs, developers, utilities and the wider community.

Regular face-to-face exchanges between developers, utility companies, telecoms, boroughs and key stakeholders creates a collaborative environment.

Open channels between parties enable transparency on progress, programme and improved certainty.

The GLA’s local knowledge highlights chances to partner between developers, utilities and boroughs.

Via the GLA, developers, utilities and boroughs have access to one another’s senior leadership to raise site specific and strategic challenges.

Parties gain sight of others’ prospective plans in areas of interest, enabling these to be taken into account much sooner.

Promote within local communities and the wider industry that you are engaged in best-practice, reducing impacts for Londoners and supporting bringing affordable homes onto the market with minimum delay.
