Lewisham (SHAPES)

The Lewisham Creative Enterprise Zone (SHAPES Lewisham) is located at the intersection of two key high streets in Deptford and New Cross.

It focuses on retaining graduate talent from the borough’s renowned creative education institutions, including Goldsmiths and Trinity Laban. It is increasing affordable spaces for the fast-growing creative and digital cluster, 85 new artist’s studios at The Deptford Foundry, delivered by Second Floor Studios have already been launched.

The zone is also increasing connectivity and promotion within the sector and helping transform local high streets into creative and cultural hubs by identifying council assets that can help the sector thrive and building engagement through dynamic public-facing activity such as the Creative Happenings local artistic commissions.
