The Mayor’s budget 2014-15

Created on
13 January 2014

This meeting took place on 14 January 2014. Read the transcript here.

How will the Mayor’s draft budget for 2014-15 [1] affect London’s public services and economic development in the capital?

The London Assembly Budget and Performance Committee will tomorrow question the Mayor about the tax, transport fare revenue, and spending priorities in his proposed £17bn budget for the financial year ahead.

The Committee will further explore issues raised in its Pre-Budget Report [2] which questioned how targets for improved services will be achieved while budgets are being cut and asks why crime is falling more slowly in London than the rest of the country.

The following issues will be considered:

Policing, crime reduction and technology

London Fire Brigade

Transport funding and income, including fares

Housing and land disposals

Future funding and priorities for the Greater London Authority

The meeting will take place on Tuesday, 14 January from 10 am in The Chamber at City Hall (The Queen’s Walk, London SE1).

Media and members of the public are invited to attend. The meeting can also be viewed via webcast.
